Professional Recap

AJGA alumnus Scottie Scheffler lost just one match at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in his home state of Texas. After losing that match in group play against Tommy Fleetwood, Scheffler stormed through the bracket on his way to securing his third PGA TOUR victory in his last five starts.

A match play maven, Scheffler defeated defending champion Billy Horschel, Seamus Power, Dustin Johnson and Kevin Kisner en route to the title. His career record at the tournament is 10-2-2.

With the win, Scheffler became the No. 1 golfer in the world in just 92 starts. Only Tiger Woods (21) and fellow Texan Jordan Spieth (77) did it quicker. Scheffler is also one of just six golfers to reach world No. 1 at the age of 25 or younger.

Scheffler's collegiate and professional achievements shouldn't come as a shock to anyone who watched him play junior golf. The three-time Rolex Junior All-American won the 2013 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship and the 2014 Junior Invitational at Sage Valley.
