AJGA Alumna Jaravee Boonchant earned her first victory on the Epson Tour this past weekend at the Epson Tour Championship. Not only that, but Boonchant set a new Epson Tour 72-hole record and all-time scoring record after closing out the week at 23-under-par.

Held at the Champions course at LPGA International, Boonchant fought hard to secure her first win on the Epson Tour. The rookie had a tight one-shot victory over runner-up and AJGA Alumna, Riley Rennell, and was three strokes from third-place finisher and AJGA Alumna, Bailey Tardy.

In her opening round, Boonchant carded five birdies to shoot a 5-under-par 67. The next day, the Duke graduate kept the momentum going by making eight birdies to shoot a 8-under-par 64. In the third round, she carded an eagle on No. 5 and two birdies on the back nine to push her lead up to 4-under-par 68.

Heading into the final round, Boonchant had a two stroke lead on Rennell. Boonchant stayed focused and went on to card another six birdies to close out the tournament bogey-free. She finished the tournament at 23-under-par to leave Daytona Beach, Florida, a champion.

Boonchant was a a standout AJGA player as a junior golfer. She was a first-team Rolex Junior All-American in 2016 and an honorable mention Rolex Junior All-American in 2015. Boonchant earned her sole AJGA victory at the 2016 ANNIKA Invitational before playing collegiate golf at Duke University.
