Martin Laird won his fourth PGA TOUR title and first since 2013 at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Laird finished at 23-under-par 261 with scores of 65-63-65-68 for the tournament and would enter into a playoff with AJGA alumni Austin Cook and Matthew Wolff. He would sink a birdie putt on the second playoff hole to win.

Sei Young Kim became a major champion on the LPGA Tour after winning the KPMG Women's PGA Championship last weekend. Kim finished with a bogey-free 7-under-par 63 to get to 14-under-par 266 for the tournament. She would end up five shots ahead of AJGA alumnae Inbee Park who finished runner-up at 9-under-par 271.

AJGA alumnus Trey Mullinax won the Orange County National Championship to earn his second Korn Ferry Tour victory. Mullinax carded scores of 65-65-62-69 to finish at 23-under-par 261 for the week and win by one stroke. In his AJGA career, he had two top-10 finishes and went on to play collegiate golf at the University of Alabama.
