Professional Recap

AJGA alumnus Jason Kokrak earned his first PGA TOUR victory at the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek last weekend. He carded an 8-under 64 in the final round to get to 20-under for the tournament and edge out Xander Schauffele by two strokes. Kokrak played in AJGA events from 1999 until 2003. His best finish was fourth at the 2002 Toldo Group Eastern Canadian Junior.

Phil Mickelson earned his second win in his second PGA TOUR Champions start at the Dominion Energy Charity Classic. The AJGA alumnus finished at 17-under 199 to win by three strokes over Mike Weir. During his junior golf career, Mickelson played in AJGA events from 1985 until 1988 and holds the AJGA Boys Division record for most career individual wins with 12.

Matilda Castren won the Mission Inn Championship to get her first victory on the Symetra Tour. A 2-under 71 in the final round was more than enough to earn her a five-shot victory. Anna Redding was the highest-finishing AJGA alumna in third place at 5-under 214 for the tournament.

AJGA alumna Rachel Kuehn competed as an amateur in the event and finished T28. In her first professional event, she carded scores of 76-74-72 to finish at 3-over-par for the tournament. Kuehn is currently a sophomore on the Wake Forest women's golf team.
