Nicholas Gross of Downington, Pennsylvania, shot a first round score of 6-under-par 66 to lead the Boys Division. Gross recorded eight birdies to help him set the new course record at Toftrees Golf Resort. With a win at the Junior Golf Hub Junior All-Star presented by Explore York last week, it is safe to say that Gross is on a roll.
John Hiller of New York, New York, and Jack Vojtko of Stow, Ohio, both shot rounds of 4-under-par 68. Three players shot 3-under-par 69 to trail Gross by three strokes after the first day.
Sophia Sarrazin of Westport, Connecticut, took a commanding lead in the Girls Division after shooting 3-under-par 69. Sarrazin finished the day with only one bogey. Brooke Oberparleiter of Jupiter, Florida, sits in second place after shooting even-par 72.
