Dispite the windy conditions, Sihan Sandhu of Ashburn, Virginia, walked into the scoring tent at 3-under-par 69. Sandhu recorded three birdies and an eagle to take a two-stroke lead going into the final round. He has six top-10 finishes and is looking for his first AJGA win this week.
In solo second place is Garrett Kuhla of Richmond, Virginia. Kuhla carded three birdies during his round that carried him to a score of 1-under-par 71. He has one top-10 finish and is also looking for his first AJGA win this week.
Tied for third are Allan Kournikova of Palm Beach, Florida, Mehrbaan Singh of Ashburn, Virginia, and Jon Wesley Lovelace of Kingsport, Tennessee. The trio shot an even-par 72 to keep the trophy in their sights.
A four-way tie at the top of the Girls Division will make for an exciting final round. Gracie Song of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Kiera Bartholomew of Wake Forest, North Carolina, Maria Atwood of Holly Springs, North Carolina, and Morgan Jones of Auburn, Alabama, share the lead at 2-over-par 74. Song has a win this year at the Visit Sanford Preview, Bartholomew has two top-5 finishes, Atwood has one top-5 finish and Jones has verbally committed to Auburn University.
Sitting at 3-over-par 75 there is a five-way tie for fifth. Amanda Sambach of Davidson, North Carolina, AnPhi Le of Frederick, Maryland, Kaitlyn You of Torrance, California, Lauren Lee of Los Angeles, California, and Morgan Ketchum of Winston Salem, North Carolina, have all put themselves into fantastic position going into the final round.
