After completion of the first round of the Gateway First Bank Tulsa Junior Hosted By Bo Van Pelt, William Sides of Tulsa, Oklahoma, leads the Boys Division. Sides' five birdies put him alone atop the leaderboard. He finished the day at 4-under-par 67.
Five other players round out the top five. Matthew Spaulding of Spring, Texas, finished the day at 2-under-par 69. Rounding out the top five was Benjamin Stoller of Owasso, Oklahoma, Jake Hopper of Norman, Oklahoma, Carsen Silliman of Jackson, Missouri, and Burke Alford of Shreveport, Louisiana, finishing the day at even-par 71 and tied for third.
Britta Snyder of Ames, Iowa, leads the Girls Division. The 2020 graduate had an impressive showing with five birdies and one eagle to end the first round. Snyder shot 2-under-par 69.
Two other players round out the top three. Symran Shah of Carrollton, Texas, and Jenni Roller of Jenks, Oklahoma, both finished the day at 1-under-par 70 tied for second.
