After the second round of the GreatLIFE Junior Challenge by Sanford Health, Melena Barrientos of Plano, Texas, has the solo lead in the Girls Division. Barrientos shot an even-par 70 to stay at the top of the leaderboard. Her last win came at the AJGA Gary Woodland Junior Championship in 2018.
At the end of day two, the Boys Division is tied at 3-under-par 137. Jacob Mason of Westminster, Colorado, had four birdies to end the round and finished 1-under-par 69 to bring his two-day total to 3-under-par 137. The senior has signed a National Letter of Intent to play college golf at the University of Colorado in the fall.
Tyson Shelley of Salt Lake City, Utah, shot an even-par 70 to stay at 3-under-par 137 for the tournament and remain at the top of the leaderboard. He has made a verbal commitment to Brigham Young University for the fall 2021.
The final round of the GreatLIFE Junior Challenge by Sanford Health will be conducted on Wednesday, July 1.
