1) As one of the only events on the AJGA schedule with equal numbers of boys and girls competing, Stacy Lewis and KPMG created the event in 2015 to promote equity and friendly competition, and reinforce the importance of ethics, integrity and leadership in the game of golf.
In the 2020 Invitational, the juniors will play in twosomes throughout the week, one boy and one girl. Along with the individual stroke play champions, the top four boys and top four girls scores are combined to determine a Boys Division or Girls Division team victory. The Girls Division won the title in 2018 and 2019.
2) The Girls Division Champion will earn an exemption into the Symetra Tour’s Founders Tribute at Longbow, in Mesa, Ariz., from August 14-16 at Longbow Golf Club.
In 2020, for the fourth consecutive year, the Symetra Tour partnered with the AJGA to provide select AJGA Invitational champions with exemptions into Symetra Tour events. Of the eight AJGA invitational champions in the first three years through the partnership, seven utilized the Symetra Tour exemption and five made the cut at their respective event.
