Sara Im of Duluth, Georgia, holds a one-stroke lead after the first round. At No. 26 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, Im is 18 holes away from her second win this season and fifth-career AJGA victory. Im had a steady round, posting two back-to-back birdies on Nos. 12 and 13 to finish with a 2-under-par 70. Im finished runner-up last week at the AJGA Junior All-Star Invitational.

One stroke behind Im, Morgan Miller of Cedar Park, Texas, finished with a 1-under-par 71. Miller was able to keep her round under par thanks to two birdies in her last three holes. Rounding out the top three, Thienna Huynh of Lilburn, Georgia, Kara Carter of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Olivia Duan of Cupertino, California, are all tied at even-par 72.

In the Boys Division, Logan Paczewski of Dallas, Pennsylvania, and Jackson Buchanan of Dacula, Georgia, finished the first round with a 6-under-par 66 to lead the field by one stroke. Paczewski had six-straight birdies on Nos. 9-14, while Buchanan finished his round taking advantage of birdies on three of his last four holes. Both Paczewski and Buchanan are looking for their first AJGA win.

Rounding out the top five are: Matthew Young of Atlanta, Georgia, in third with a score of 5-under-par 67; Chapman Barnett of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Camden Smith of Windermere, Florida, tied for fourth with an 18-hole total of 2-under-par 70.
