After completion of the first round of the Under Armour Jordan Spieth Championship, Jonas Appel of Encinitas, California, leads the Boys Division. Appel's six birdies and one eagle put him alone atop the leaderboard. He finished the day at 6-under-par 66.
Four other players round out the top five. Reed Lotter of Savannah, Georgia, finished the day at 5-under-par 67. J. Holland Humphries of Austin, Texas, and Henry Fitzhugh of San Gabriel, California, both finished the day at 4-under-par 68. Rounding out the top five was Marcus Smith of Rockford, Illinois, with a score of 3-under-par 69.
Yunxuan (Michelle) Zhang of Plano, Texas, had the low score in the Girls Division today at 1-under-par 71. Zhang's four birdies were the highlight of her day.
Hallie Kuhns of Austin,Texas, Jacqueline Nguyen of Houston, Texas, and Calynne Rosholt of Cave Creek, Arizona, round out the top three with a score of even-par 72.
