The Under Armour® / Jordan Spieth Championship returns to Trinity Forest Golf Club for the fourth time, July 20-23, 2020. The 2020 edition marks the seventh time that Under Armour® and Spieth have co-hosted an AJGA tournament. The 54-hole stroke play format event will bring together 78 male and female junior golfers from around the world.

The tournament is highlighted by notable champions from both the Boys and Girls Divisions. LPGA professional and University of Alabama alumna, Kristen Gillman won the event in 2016, while current Rolex Junior All-American and Stanford University Letter of Intent signee, Sadie Englemann took the title in 2017. Rising University of Texas at Austin Junior Pierceson Coody took the Boys Division in 2016 with rising Southern Methodist University Junior Charles Osborne winning the following year.

The 78-player field includes juniors from 13 states and 4 countries, along with 19 former AJGA Champions (11 boys, 8 girls). Eleven boys from the top-100 of the Rolex AJGA Rankings highlight the Boys Division field. At No. 25 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, Keaton Vo of Austin, Texas, is the highest ranked boy in the field. Six girls from the top-100 of the Rolex AJGA Rankings will compete at Trinity Forest. The highlight being 2018 Under Armour / Jordan Spieth Junior Championship winner Bohyun Park of Farmers Branch, Texas, who is currently No. 8 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Thirty-eight of the 78 juniors competing hail from Texas including four local Dallas natives; Key Coker, Mack Duvall, Matthew Foster and Thomas Morrison.

Trinity Forest Golf Club, two-time host of the PGA TOUR’s AT&T Byron Nelson, will play host to the Under Armour® / Jordan Spieth Championship for the fourth year. The golf course designed by Bill Coore and Texas native, Ben Crenshaw, is home to Southern Methodist University men’s and women’s golf programs.

The American Junior Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. AJGA alumni include Rickie Fowler, Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Tiger Woods, Paula Creamer, Ariya Jutanugarn, Cristie Kerr, Stacy Lewis, Brittany Lincicome, Anna Nordqvist, Inbee Park and Lexi Thompson.

The tournament begins like a PGA TOUR or LPGA Tour event with an 18-hole AJGA Qualifying Tournament held on Sunday, July 19th at Cedar Crest Golf Course. This gives players the opportunity to “play their way in” to the main tournament.

Monday will feature the official practice round, and the FOX Sports Junior-Am Fundraising Tournament. If you would like to participate in the FOX Sports Junior-Am Fundraising Tournament, please contact Regional Director, Solomon Hughes, shughes@ajga.org. Net proceeds from the event will help benefit the AJGA’s Achieving Completive Excellence (ACE) Grant and local charity, Mercy Street and its South Dallas expansion of youth mentoring and leadership development programs. Mercy Street is a former beneficiary of the Crystal Charity Ball and uses the funding to provide mentorship, discipleship and opportunity to the 34% of individuals in West Dallas living beneath the poverty line. The tournament will begin Tuesday, July 21st with the first round and run through Thursday, July 23rd. An awards ceremony will follow the final round in the Trinity Forest Clubhouse.
