It is not how you start rather how you finish. That applied for Caden Mickelson of Kansas City, Missouri, who shot 3-under-par 68 to earn the Qualifier Medalist for the Boys Division. Starting on hole 10, Mickelson was even-par with two birdies and two bogeys through his first seven holes. He would go on to shoot 3-under-par on his final 11 holes with birdies on hole Nos. 3, 4 and 17. This is the second time in his AJGA career that Mickelson has earned Qualifier Medalist Honors, doing so earlier in 2021 at the Circle K Junior Championship hosted by Otter Creek.

In the Girls Division, Los Altos, California, native and member of the Class of 2025 Norah Yang was the only golfer to shoot even-par or better, shooting an even-par score of 71. Her play was good enough to earn Qualifier Medalist Honors for the first time in her AJGA career. Yang made three birdies on her day.
