Behind Thompson, in second, is Iris Cao of Duluth, Georgia. Cao heads into the final round at 2-under-par 142. Yurang Li of Fullerton, California, and Molly Hardwick of Franklin, Tennessee, are tied for third at 1-under-par 143.
Max Herendeen of Bellevue, Washington leads the Boys Division heading into the final round at 6-under-par 138. He shot 1-under-par 71 in the second round, and holds a one shot lead. Herendeen had four birdies on the day, including one on 18 to put him ahead as the solo lead.
Tied for second at 5-under-par 139 are Matt Moloney of Vienna, Virginia, Baron Szeto of Moraga, California, and William Webb of Raleigh, North Carolina. Wil Griffin of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Josh Duangmanee of Fairfax, Virginia, Luke Haskew of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Jackson Mitchell of Athens, Alabama, are T5 at 4-under-par 140.
