Brasen Briones of La Mesa, California, and Aaron Huang of (Canada) Coto De Caza, California, (not pictured) are knotted up in the lead of the Boys Division after the first round at 1-under-par 71. Briones carded four birdies during the round. Huang finished T3 at the 2021 FOX Sports Junior at Mission Viejo Qualifier.
Dylan Brack of Riverside, California, and Jonathan Kim of Cupertino, California, are only one stroke back at T3 at even-par 72. In solo fifth is Jackson Turner of Thousand Oaks, California coming in at 1-over-par 73.
