Gimpel leads Girls Division at 5-under-par 67

Clare Gimpel of Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania, carded five birdies, four of which were on the back nine, to lead the Girls Division after one round of play with a score of 5-under-par 67. This is Gimpel's first AJGA event during the 2021 season. The Coastal Carolina commit is also looking for her first AJGA career win.

Elizabeth Rudisill of Charlotte, North Carolina, is in second at 2-under-par 70. After a bogey on No. 3, Rudisill carded an eagle on No. 12 and a birdie on No. 14.

Karoline Tuttle of Lake Mary, Florida, Camila Burnett of Bluffton, South Carolina, and Chaewon Jeong (South Korea) of Alajuela Centro, Costa Rica, are T3 at 1-under-par 71.

Cade McLaughlin of Princeton, New Jersey, carded four birdies, two on the front nine and two on the back nine, to lead the Boys Division with a score of 3-under-par 69. This is McLaughlin's fourth AJGA event in 2021. He most recently finished T2 at the AJGA Hale Irwin Colorado Junior last week.

Tyler Sabo of Ashland, Ohio, Jose Antonio Safa of Torreon, Mexico, and Reed Sweigart of Roswell, Georgia, are all tied for second at 1-under-par 71.

Rounding out the top-5 boys in a four-way tie are Rohan Singh of Ponte Vedra, Florida, Ryan Downes of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, Sam Davis of Jacksonville, Florida, and Wyatt Plattner of Sarasota, Florida, with a score of even-par 72.
