Four strokes back tied for second is Kaylyn Noh of Rocklin, California, and Adora Liu of Newark, California, at 3-under-par 69. Noh carded four birdies and Liu carded six birdies during the round.
Carson Kim of Fullerton, California, and Trevor Garus of Boise, Idaho, share the lead of the Boys Division at 5-under-par 67 after the first round of play. Kim carded six birdies and Garus carded seven birdies during the round. Kim is No.117 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and finished third at the 2020 AJGA Junior at Vista Valley. Garus finished ninth at the 2021 AJGA Junior All-Star at Morongo.
Tied for third, just one stroke behind at 4-under-par 68 is Dylan Oyama of Carlsbad, California, Kai Hirayama of Arcadia, California, and Shivam Patel of Frisco, Texas.
