Maggert carded two birdies in the round and eagled No. 12. Guan had five birdies in the round, including a birdie on No. 18 to tie the lead. Maggert and Guan both had bogey-free back-nines and both players are 18 holes away from their first career AJGA victory.
Parker Sands of Edmond, Oklahoma, is in solo third place after shooting 3-under-par 141 through the first two rounds. Sands shot 2-under-par 70 in the second round. The 2024 graduate had three birdies and a bogey-free back-nine during the round. Sands is on the hunt for his first career AJGA victory.
Will King of Olathe, Kansas, Bryant Polhill of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Maxwell Tjoa of Cedar Falls, Iowa, are all tied for fourth place after shooting 1-under-par 143 overall. The three players combined for 10 birdies in the second round.
Grace Kilcrease of Springdale, Arkansas, and Ellie Bushnell of Granite Bay, California, are the Girls Division leaders after shooting 3-under-par 141 through the first two rounds. Both players shot even-ever-par 72 in the second round. Kilcrease ended her round with three birdies total and Bushnell carded five birdies. Kilcrease is looking to add another AJGA victory to her 2021 season after winning the Bass Pro Shops / Payne Stewart Junior Championship this July. This is Bushnell's first AJGA appearance and would be her first win.
Anna Kate Nichols of Little Rock, Arkansas, is in solo third place after shooting 3-under-par 69 in the round. The 2024 graduate is currently 2-under-par 142 overall. Nichols recorded five birdies in the second round. She is seeking her first career AJGA victory.
