Nip leads Girls Division by three strokes

Angela Nip of (Hong Kong) Port St. Lucie, Florida, leads the Girls Division by three strokes after shooting 1-under-par 71 in the round. Nip had two birdies in the round, including back to back birdies on No. 14 and No. 15. The 2026 graduate will be seeking her first career AJGA victory.

Sofia Cherif Essakali of (Morocco) Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Kanchana Duangsam Rudd of Haymarket, Virginia, are tied for second place after shooting 2-over-par 74 in the round.

Griffin Garvin of Statesboro, Georgia, and Payton Schmitt of Raleigh, North Carolina, are tied for the Boys Division lead after shooting 3-under-par 69. Garvin ended his round with six birdies, including a birdie on No. 18 to get a tie for the lead. Schmitt also had six birdies in the round, including having four consecutive birdies on No. 12 to No. 15. Both players will be seeking their first career AJGA victory.

Talen Harrison of Kannapolis, North Carolina, is three shots behind the leader after shooting even-par-72 in the round. The 2025 graduate had six birdies on the day. Dylan Takenaga of Durham, North Carolina, is currently in fourth place after shooting 1-over-par 73 in the round. The 2025 had two birdies in the first round. Jake Dalton of Gillsville, Georgia, is in fifth place after shooting 2-over-par 74 in the round. The 2025 graduate also had two birdies in the round.
