Kate Pickrell of Austin, Texas, leads the Girls Division after the first round at 4-under-par 68. Pickrell was the event's qualifier medalist and despite weather delays, she carded six birdies in the opening round. Pickrell finished T3 this spring at the Traditions Spring Invitational.
Allyn Stephens of Houston, is a stroke behind at 3-under-par 69. She is ranked No. 149 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. Savannah Barber of Fort Worth, Texas, is only two strokes out of the lead at 2-under-par 70. She is ranked No. 143 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.
The Boys Division is knotted up after nine holes. Thomas Curry of Texarkana, Arkansas, Billy Abdow of Duluth, Georgia, Braeden Hoyt of Houston, Texas, and Nathan Marion of San Antonio, Texas, are tied for the lead at 2-under-par 34.
