Anya Mathur of Scottsdale, Arizona, is the first round Girls Division leader with a score of 4-under-par 68. The rising freshman has had five top-ten finishes in 2020 in Junior Golf Association of Arizona tournaments.
Brooke McGlasson of Peoria, Arizona, is T2 with a score of 3-under-par 69. McGlasson was named the fourth best sophomore in the state of Arizona.
Kristina Xu of Calremont, California, is also T2. Xu has had five top-ten finishes in the Southern California PGA Junior Tour and was also named the SGPGAJT's 2018 Player of the Year.
At T4 with a score of 2-under-par 70 is Zoe Parker of Las Vegas, Nevada. In March, she was named the champion of the U.S. Kid's Golf Desert Shootout. Jude Lee of Walnut, California (2026), is also T4. She carded four birdies and one eagle in the first round.
Tyler Loree of El Paso, Texas, leads the Boys Division. He finished the first round with a score of 5-under-par 67. Loree had five birdies on the back nine and six total for the day.
Adam Anderson of Ventura, California, ended the round at solo second with a score of 4-under-par 68. At the beginning of May, he finished T2 in the Corey Pavin Invitational hosted by the Southern Calfornia PGA.
Jeff Seong of Tacoma, Washington, is solo third with a score of 3-under-par 69. Seong had five birdies on the round.
Andrew Reyes of Kathleen, Georgia, is T4 with a score of 2-under-par 70. This is Reyes' first tournament of 2021. Also at T4 is Corbin Null of Woodway, Texas. Null finished solo third in the North Texas Junior Showcase held by the Northern Texas PGA. The final player at T4 is Logan Kim of La Canada Flintridge, California. Kim had three birdies and one eagle.
