Broderick, Po and Stamato hold Boys Division after 18 holes

In the Boys Division, John Broderick of Wellesley, Massachusetts, Hunter Po of Bridgewater, New Jersey, and Jack Stamato of Severna Park, Maryland, sit tied at even-par 72 after the first round. Each player earned their way to co-leader in different ways with Broderick notching three birdies, Po carding five, and Stamato firing three with an eagle. Each junior is looking for their first AJGA wins.

Rounding out the top five in a two-way tie for fourth place are Ethan Fang of Plano, Texas, and Daniel Choi of Keller, Texas, at 1-over-par 73. Fang carded three birdies, while Choi notched four of his own. Both juniors are verbally committed to NCAA Division I schools.

With a solo lead for the Girls Division after round one, is Katie Li of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, at even-par 72. Li carded four birdies in her first round, which was the most in the Girls Division. She is committed to Duke University.

In second place at 1-over-par 73, is Samantha Galantini of West Orange, New Jersey. Galantini fired off three birdies in her first round, including a bogey-free back nine. Rounding out the top three is Wenyue (Sonia) Hao of (China) Dallas, Texas. Hao shot two-over-par 74 with three birdies in her first round. Both Galantini and Hao are looking for their first AJGA wins.
