The AJGA Simplify Boys Championship at Carlton Woods returns to The Woodlands, Texas, on February 18-21, 2022. The Club at Carlton Woods - Fazio Championship Course has hosted the event since 2009.

The event is continually recognized as one of the strongest all-boys junior golf events in the world. The competition will feature a 54-hole stroke play event with 72 of the top-ranked juniors in the world.

About the Course

  • The Club at Carlton Woods boasts the distinction of being one of only two private clubs in the US with a Nicklaus/Fazio design combination. Jack Nicklaus designed the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course which opened in 2001 and Tom Fazio the Tom Fazio Championship Course in 2005.

AJGA Champion Highlights
Of the 44 players who’ve won an AJGA event, a few highlights:

  • Eric Lee of Fullerton, California, won the 2021 Rolex Tournament of Champions. As the highest-ranked player in the field, Lee finished T8 in 2021 at his Carlton Woods debut. The 2023 grad is verbally committed to play golf at the University of California, Berkeley.
  • Jackson Koivun of San Jose, California, won the Jack Burke Jr. Invitational in 2021 and finished runner-up at the 2021 Rolex Tournament of Champions and was named a First Team Rolex Junior All-American. He is a verbal commit to Auburn University.
  • Nicholas Gross of Downington, Pennsylvania, is the highest-ranked player in the class of 2024 in the field. Gross won the 2021 AJGA Junior All-Star Invitational presented by adidas Golf and was named a member of the 2021 AJGA Junior All-Star team and Rolex Junior All-American. He is making his debut at Carlton Woods this week.
