Amber Li of Bellevue, Washington, leads the UNIQLO / Adam Scott Junior Championship following first round play. She finished the day at even-par 72, but it was far from boring. Li's front nine featured four birdies, a triple and a bogey. Her back nine was much more consistent though, as she made seven pars in addition to a bogey on the par-3 No. 15 and a birdie on the par-5 No. 18. Li's best finish to date was fourth at the 2021 AJGA Junior at Palouse Ridge.

Amelie Phung of Forest Hills, New York, and Elise Lee of Irvine, California, are T2 at 1-over-par 73. Phung fired five birdies on the day, while Lee recorded 14 straight pars to start the round before coming in with a double bogey on No. 15 and a birdie on No. 17.

Daniel Heo of (South Korea) Cypress, California, and Clark Van Gaalen of Turlock, California, lead the Boys Division at 4-under-par 68. The pair combined for 13 birdies. Heo signed a National Letter of Intent with University of California, Berkeley, and was a 2021 Scholastic Junior All-American. This is Van Gaalen's first AJGA tournament.

Adam Anderson of Ventura, California, and Jeffrey Guan of Bexley, Australia, are T3 at 3-under-par 69.
