Jake Albert takes the moving day lead at #JackBurkeJr

Albert birdies final two holes to secure lead
JAKE ALBERT - 2023 JACK BURKE JR INVITATIONAL

Houston, Texas- Jake Albert of Blacksburg, Virginia, went bogey-free to lead the second round of the Jack Burke Jr. Invitational.

The 2025 graduate shot 4-under-par 67 in the second round to take the lead.

The second annual Jack Burke Jr. returned to the notable Champions Golf Club. The 72-player field consisting of boys ages 12-19 features 28 college commits, 30 players ranked in the top-100 of the Rolex AJGA Rankings and 50 AJGA champions.

The field is comprised of six different countries, 24 different states and currently has nine boys at even-par or better following the second round.

Albert started off hole No. 10 where he was even-par until his 6th hole when he birdied hole No. 15. When he made the turn, Albert birdied hole No. 1 where stayed at 2-under-par for the remainder of the round until the end of his round until he birdied his final two holes. The No. 118 ranked player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings finished the day at 3-under-par 68 to grab the lead.

Albert is seeking his first invitational win.

I just tried to make par because I knew even-par would be a great score today... I made four birdie putts which is pretty good.

Henry Guan - 2023 - Jack Burke Jr. Invitational

Henry Guan of Dallas, Texas, is two strokes behind first at 2-under-par 140.

Guan came into the day at even-par after the first round. The 23rd ranked player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings started on hole No. 10. He birdied two holes and only one bogey. He shot 1-under-par on the front bringing him to two-under-par after the second round.

Guan is seeking his second invitational win.

MICHAEL RIEBE - 2023 JACK BURKE JR INVITATIONAL

Michael Riebe of Encinitas, California, is tied for second at 2-under-par.

Riebe also started off hole No. 10 where he had a bogey-free front nine with two birdies. His back nine started with two bogeys on hole No's. 2 and 3 and a quick turn-around with a birdie on hole No. 5. Riebe finished the second round at 1-under-par.

Riebe is seeking his first invitational win.

The final round of the 3rd Jack Burke Jr. Invitational continues tomorrow with tee times from 8:00 a.m. to 9:53 a.m. off the Champions Golf Club's No's. 1 and 10 tees.
