Stanford, CA - Leigh Chien of Irvine, California, Anna Song of Los Angeles, California, Eliana Saga of Stevenson Ranch, California, Lisa Herman of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Yurang Li of Fullerton, California, all share the lead at the Fortinet Girls Invitational at Stanford at 2-under-par 140.

Chien, the defending champion of the event, bounced back after an even-par 71 first round. The Stanford University verbal commit recorded a bogey-free front nine, before doubling 11. Birdies on 12 and 13 moved her back to 2-under-par 140. Chien is the top ranked girl in the field at No. 3 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

Song was the only girl tied for first to record an eagle. Her eagle on No. 12 combined with birdies on 2, 4 and 7 moved Song up the leaderboard. Bogies on 5, 15 and 17 moved her tournament score back down to 2-under-par 140. Song is currently No. 82 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and is looking for her first AJGA win.

Saga, the youngest of those in the lead (class of 2028), also had an up and down day. Birdies on Nos. 1, 4 and 7, were cancelled out by bogeys on Nos. 6 and 14. Saga is already an AJGA champion. She took home the 2022 Gateway First Bank Tulsa Junior hosted by Bo Van Pelt.

Herman, who finished the first round tied for second, carded an even-par 71 for the day. She recorded as many birdies as bogeys on day 2. Herman is also already an AJGA Champion. She won the 2022 Accenture NW Arkansas Junior and is currently ranked No. 79 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

Li, who also finished the first round tied for second, opened the day with a birdie on No. 1 and went bogey-free on the front nine. An up and down back-nine concluded her round at even-par 71 for the day. Li is a verbal commit to the University of Illinois.

Abbey Schutte of Goodyear, Arizona, Jaclyn LaHa of Pleasanton, California, Kiara Romero of San Jose, California, and Samantha Olson of Phoenix, Arizona, are T6 with a score of 1-under-par 141.

The Fortinet Girls Invitational at Stanford marks the eighth time Stanford Golf Course has hosted an AJGA tournament and the first year that the all-girls invitational will be sponsored by Fortinet. The field showcases the best female junior golfers from around the world with 11 players ranked inside the top-25 of the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

The final-round will take place at Stanford Golf Course on Monday, February 20, off Nos. 1 and 10 tees from 8:30 to 10:20 a.m. PT.
