William Jennings first round - 2023 - Team TaylorMade Invitational

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — William Jennings of Greenville, South Carolina, and Cayden Pope of Lexington, Kentucky, share the lead after the first round of the Team TaylorMade Invitational with scores of 7-under-par 65.

The Second Round will begin with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun on May 27.

Jennings had a bogey-free first round and carried his momentum into the back nine. The Alabama verbal commit was 6-under-par through his final eight holes.

"I started off a little slow on the front nine. I made seven pars in a row and made the turn at one under. I got it going on the back and made a few (birdies), and birdied the last four holes."

Jennings is playing in the Team TaylorMade Invitational for the second time. He finished T15 at the event in 2021.

Pope is also at 7-under-par, after finishing up early Saturday morning due to weather suspending play. At No. 24 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, Pope had a four-hole birdie streak going through Nos. 14-17 before play stopped.

"It started off good yesterday on the first hole, I rolled in a nice 20-footer for birdie which kinda got things going... I made a few putts late yesterday before getting called off the course. It was nice to come back this morning and make a par to finish off a good round."
