Greensboro, NC – Jack Gilbert of Houston, Texas, moved ahead of the competition after the second round of the Wyndham Invitational presented by Odyssey.

The 2023 graduate shot 2-under-par 68 in the second round to grab the lead at 3-under-par 137.

The 22nd annual Wyndham Invitational presented by Odyssey returned to the historic Sedgefield Country Club. The 72-player field consisting of boys ages 12-19 features 28 college commits, 41 players ranked in the top-100 of the Rolex AJGA Rankings, and 10 Rolex Junior All-Americans.

The field hails from seven different countries, 19 different states and currently has six boys at even-par or better following the second round.

Throughout a windy day, Gilbert took advantage of the tough playing conditions and jumped up ten spots. He made an eagle on the par-5 No. 5 to jumpstart his round. He followed his eagle up with three straight birdies starting on the par-4 No. 6. Gilbert made the turn at 5 under-par 30. He ran into a bit of trouble on the back, with a bogey on Nos. 10 and 13 and a double-bogey on the par-4 No. 14. Gilbert made back-to-back birdies on Nos. 15 and 16 but made another bogey on the par-4 No. 17. With a par on the tough par-4 No. 18, Gilbert posted a final score of 2 under-par 68. The No. 55 ranked player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings leads the tournament by one-stroke at 3-under-par 137.

I knew if I stayed within myself and focused on what I can control, then my game would feel good. There were a couple of pins that were difficult with the left to right wind. Knowing when to take opportunities and take your chances was critical out here.

Riebe jumped up nine spots on the leaderboard after turning in a second round score of 1-under-par 69. Bertagnole fired three birdies on the front nine, but found some trouble on the back nine to end the round with an even-par 70. First round co-leader, Joshua Kim, made three birdies throughout his round, but ultimately turned in a score of 2-over-par 72.
