Greensboro, NC - William Jennings of Greenville, South Carolina and Joshua Kim of Danville, California, both take the lead after the first round of the Wyndham Invitational presented by Odyssey at 4-under-par 66. Both players hold a one-stroke lead over the rest of the leaderboard.

The 22nd Wyndham Invitational presented by Odyssey started on Tuesday at Sedgefield Country Club. The all-boys, 72-player field features 28 college commits, 41 players ranked in the top-100 of the Rolex AJGA Rankings, and 10 Rolex Junior All-Americans.

The field hails from 19 different states and seven countries. There are currently 32 boys at even-par or better after the first round.

Jennings had a near perfect opening round. After making a bogey on the par-4 No. 4, he made five birdies throughout the rest of his round. The University of Alabama commit is playing his third year in a row at this event. In his 2022 run, Jennings tied for fifth. The class of 2024 rising senior finished third at the 2023 Team TaylorMade Invitational and is seeking his first AJGA Invitational win.

This is my third time playing this event, so I feel pretty comfortable out here. I've played well the past two years. Coming down the final stretch, I hit a few good shots and I was able to capitalize on it.

Kim fired five birdies throughout his round, including the toughest hole on the course, the par-4 No. 14. He made his only bogey on the par-4 No. 18 to finish his round. The rising junior earned his first AJGA win at the 2023 Will Lowery Junior Championship in April and is playing in his first AJGA Invitational.

I went birdie birdie on 13 and 14 so I was just trying to ride that momentum. Even the pros sometimes struggle out here and knowing that I shot 4-under today makes me feel really good.

Miles Russell of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, and Alex Zhang of Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, are both one-stroke back of the leaders. The two combined finished the first round with nine birdies on the day.

Eric Zhao of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Henry Guan of Dallas, Texas; Carson Bertagnole of Pinehurst, North Carolina; Luke Smith of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Brock Blais of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and Brody McQueen of Marietta, Georgia, are two-strokes off the lead at 2-under-par 68.

The 22nd Wyndham Invitational continues tomorrow with tee times from 7:30 a.m. to 11:43 a.m. off of Sedgefield Country Club's No. 1 tee.
