Carter commands lead after the first round at Le Triomphe Golf & Country Club

Milton, Thomas and Wang shoot 4-under par 60 to lead in the Boys Division

After the first round of competition, Grace Carter of Jupiter, Florida leads the Girl's Division after posting a 5-under-par 67 at the 1st Clubs for Kids Foundation Junior All-Star Invitational. She is currently ranked No. 30 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. This event marks her third Invitational appearance of 2025. Carter is seeking her fourth AJGA win of the season and first Invitational title.

Carter started the day strong with a birdie on No. 2 and played a bogey-free front nine. She added eagles on Nos. 5 and 15 to cap off a dominant opening round.

"I played solid today. Made a few mistakes, but I'm happy to get off to a good start. I'm just going to try and stick to my game for the rest of the weekend."

In second place in the Girl's Division is Aubrey Lee of Stevenson Ranch, California.

Lee is making her first AJGA Invitational appearance. She is also seeking her first AJGA win this weekend. Lee carded a bogey-free front nine with birdies on Nos. 1, 5 and 6 . After she made the turn, Lee added two additional birdies to her total on the day to come in at a 4-under-par 68.

In the Boy's Division, Maxwell Milton, SJ Thomas and Yunze Wang each fired 4-under-par 68 to share the lead.

Maxwell Milton of Polson, Montana, had a strong first round with birdies on Nos. 1, 8 and 10. Milton also carded eagles on Nos. 5 and 14. He is playing in his first AJGA Invitational and is a 2025 Junior All-Star Team member.

"Got off to a good start with a birdie on No. 1 and then an eagle on No. 5 really got me going. The competition here is really good so I'm going to continue to focus on myself and see how it all shakes out this weekend."

SJ Thomas of Birmingham, Alabama, also got off to a fast start with birdies on Nos. 1, 5 and 6. After making the turn, he added an eagle on No. 12 and two more birdies on Nos. 14 and 15. Thomas is also a 2025 Junior All-Star Team Member.

"I played a great round today. I was able to make a few putts and had a lucky chip in on the 12th hole. I'm just going to keep taking it one shot at a time and see what that brings me."

Yunze Wang of Rancho Santa Fe, California carded the most birdies in the Boy's Division with seven total. The 2024 Junior All-Star Team Member is making his first AJGA Invitational appearance of the season and is seeking his first AJGA win.

"Overall, I thought I played pretty well today. I've been preparing for this tournament the whole year and am happy to get off to a good start."

1st Clubs For Kids Foundation Mission Statement

About 1st Clubs for Kids Foundation
The 1st Clubs for Kids Foundation provides kids with their first, hands-on introduction to the game and assists in providing a set of clubs to those who want to pursue the sport. The foundation will also create opportunities for juniors to receive lessons and will provide resources for competitive play.

For those junior golfers who excel and have the drive to pursue collegiate and professional levels, the foundation will provide the resources needed to identify these opportunities. The foundation will have a positive impact on kids, and individuals who aspire to work in the golf industry and will impact the industry as a whole.

Since its inception, the foundation has provided access to a sport that perhaps, many never thought they would have access to. Many children have been significantly impacted positively from the foundation; particularly those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and those who have been impacted by severe grief from the loss of a family member or loved one.
