The American Junior Golf Association is proud to announce PGA TOUR professional Billy Horschel and Zurich Insurance Group as the new title and presenting sponsors of the AJGA Atlanta Classic. This event is to take place from August 21st through the 24th for the third consecutive year at the scenic Planterra Club in Peachtree City, Georgia. This marks the sixth year the event has been hosted in Fayette County.
Horschel, a longtime supporter of junior golf and a committed AJGA host, will enter his eighth year of involvement with the organization, further amplifying his dedication to the AJGA’s Mission of DEVELOPING GOLF’S NEXT GENERATION®. Horschel's tournament, which is relocating from the Jacksonville area, brings a fresh chapter for both Horschel and the AJGA in Georgia.
“The Horschel Family Foundation is thrilled to collaborate with the event formerly known as the AJGA Atlanta Classic presented by UHY to deliver a truly exceptional experience for the juniors, their families, the Planterra membership, and the community. We look forward to contributing additional energy and excitement to this already outstanding event and we couldn't be happier to partner with the host facility and committee that consistently make a significant impact on so many in the greater Atlanta area.”
The tournament enjoys strong community support with 16 dedicated local committee members overseeing most aspects of the event’s planning and execution. Each year, more than 175 volunteers contribute as guest starters, driving range attendants, Care for the Course participants, and more ensuring an exceptional experience for players, families and fans.
“Coming off his TGL SoFi Championship with Atlanta Drive, we are excited to welcome Billy Horschel as the host of the Atlanta Classic and Zurich as the new presenting sponsor. Our committee has worked hard to build a tournament that gives the AJGA's student athletes a fun and supportive place to shine while also giving back to our community and the Liberty National ACE Grant. We are proud to partner with the Horschel Family Foundation to help advance their work inspiring hope, healing and health. The Foundation's focus on serving veterans aligns with the work we've done to give back to the Fayette Fire Foundation.”
A highlight of the week will be the Chick-fil-A Junior-Am presented by Truett’s Group on August 21st, which will feature a thrilling flyover experience, adding an extra layer of excitement and community celebration.
“The AJGA is incredibly excited to bring the Billy Horschel Atlanta Classic presented by Zurich to Planterra Club. “This premier venue provides the perfect stage to highlight the next generation of elite junior golfers. We’re proud to partner with Billy Horschel, whose dedication to growing the game continues to inspire, and we look forward to delivering a first-class tournament experience for players, families and the local community.”
The 2025 Billy Horschel Atlanta Classic presented by Zurich promises to be a premier stop on the AJGA schedule, blending elite junior golf with a strong sense of local pride and national impact.
