The American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), in partnership with Ochsner Health and the Bayou District Foundation, is proud to return to Bayou Oaks at City Park for the second annual Ochsner Health / AJGA New Orleans Classic, continuing its commitment to host one of junior golf’s premier tournaments in the heart of New Orleans.
Leading the way as the event’s Title Sponsor is Ochsner Health, Louisiana’s largest nonprofit health system, known for its innovation, world-class care and deep roots across the Gulf South. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit The Gayle and Tom Benson Ochsner Children’s Hospital.
"It’s an honor for Ochsner to return as the title sponsor of this incredible event. We’re proud to partner with the AJGA and Bayou District Foundation to help drive real impact in New Orleans. This tournament is about more than golf; it’s about coming together to support our community’s future."
The Bayou District Foundation operates Bayou Oaks Golf Course as part of its broader mission to drive community revitalization in New Orleans. In partnership with New Orleans City Park, the Foundation played a key role in the $24.5 million redevelopment of the Bayou Oaks South Course complex, which reopened in 2017. The championship course was designed by renowned architect Rees Jones, in collaboration with Ace Torre and the PGA TOUR Design team. In addition to overseeing daily operations, the Foundation allocates a portion of the course’s net operating revenues to support transformative initiatives in housing, education and wellness. This model, inspired by the successful East Lake approach in Atlanta, demonstrates how revenue from recreational spaces like golf courses can be reinvested to uplift entire neighborhoods and create long-term, sustainable change.
"It’s incredibly meaningful to see this tournament bring the Bayou District Foundation’s mission to life. The AJGA and Ochsner have been fantastic partners in helping us use golf as a vehicle for lasting community impact. We’re proud to host this event at Bayou Oaks and continue creating opportunities for families in the Bayou District."
Bayou Oaks at City Park – South Course is a championship public golf facility in the heart of New Orleans, designed by world-renowned golf course architect Rees Jones and Greg Muirhead of Rees Jones Inc., in association with Torre Design Consortium. The 18-hole course, which combines the property’s original East and West courses, features 46 bunkers, multiple water hazards, and strategically placed landscapes that challenge players of all skill levels. The course was rebuilt after Hurricane Katrina and is operated by the Bayou District Foundation.
"We’re thrilled to welcome the AJGA back to Bayou Oaks for another year of world-class junior golf. As both the tournament chair and an AJGA parent, it’s incredibly rewarding to see this event continue to grow. With the support of Ochsner and the Bayou District Foundation, we’re building something truly meaningful for New Orleans."
