Stanford, CA - Anna Fang of San Diego, California, and Asterisk Talley of Chowchilla, California, are tied after day two at The Fortinet Stanford Invitational hosted by Rose Zhang. The PING Junior Solheim Cup teammates sit at 9-under-par with 18 holes remaining at Stanford Golf Course.
Fang began the day at 5-under-par, two shots behind Talley. The 15-year-old opened with a birdie on the second hole and made the turn at 1-under for the round. Starting the back nine at 6-under and trailing by four, she birdied the third hole before carding back-to-back birdies on Nos. 6 and 7.
"I played pretty well today. I got off to a slow start in the wet conditions, but after the front nine, I tightened it up and made some good putts."
Fang closed out her round with pars on Nos. 8 and 9, carding a 3-under 32 on the back nine. Currently ranked No. 19 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, she is aiming for her first Invitational victory this week.

Talley started the day at 7-under after matching the tournament’s lowest round with a 64 in round one. The 16-year-old opened on No. 10 and cruised through a bogey-free front nine, picking up birdies on Nos. 12 and 15.
The Rolex AJGA Rankings' No. 1 carded another birdie on No. 1 after the turn. She played her final eight holes at 1-over, posting her second straight round in the 60s. Talley is aiming for her fourth Invitational victory of her career.
"I am excited for tomorrow to see how the conditions are and to see how I play and hopefully I can play as good as I did yesterday."
Shauna Liu of Maple, Ontario, ties for the lowest round of the day with a 5-under 66. She sits in solo third at 4-under for the tournament. Currently ranked No. 26 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, Liu is chasing her first career Invitational victory this week.
Six players are tied for fourth after 36 holes of play. Scarlett Schremmer of Birmingham, Alabama, Nikki Oh of Torrance, California, Sophia Ellestad of Houston, Texas, Rina Kawasaki of (Japan) Palos Verdes Estates, California, Angela Zhang of Bellevue, Washington, and Yixuan Chen of (China) Irvine, California are all at 2-under for the tournament.
The final round of The Fortinet Stanford Invitational hosted by Rose Zhang is slated to begin on Monday, February 17, at 8:30 a.m. PT.
