SOMIS, Calif. – The 19th PING Invitational will once again bring together 72 of the top junior golfers in the world for one of the AJGA’s most prestigious championships. Split evenly with 36 boys and 36 girls, the 54-hole stroke-play event will take place October 10–13 at The Saticoy Club in Somis, California.
This marks the second consecutive year The Saticoy Club has hosted The PING Invitational and the sixth AJGA event in the club’s storied history. Established in 1921, the historic course is home to the iconic tree featured in its logo—still standing tall behind the No. 13 green. Known for its classic design and championship pedigree, The Saticoy Club continues to provide an elite test for the best in junior golf. 2024 Girls Division champion Asterisk Talley of Chowchilla, California, returns to defend her title against another world-class field.
About the Field
Over the years, this event has featured player representation from 29 countries. This year’s field is loaded with talent, including 25 players ranked inside the top 25 of the Rolex AJGA Rankings. The lineup also includes 50 past AJGA champions, 17 Rolex Junior All-Americans, and 35 college commits. Since 2006, only 11 bogey-free rounds have been recorded.

Top Players to Watch
Defending champion, Asterisk Talley of Chowchilla, California, returns as the top-ranked player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. The Stanford commit and three-time Rolex Junior All-American is seeking her fifth career AJGA Invitational title after winning in 2024.
Aphrodite Deng of Short Hills, New Jersey, ranked No. 2, is a two-time Rolex Junior All-American and 2024–25 Wyndham Cup East Team member. She owns four AJGA titles, including three Invitational wins.
Clairey Lin of Palos Verdes Estates, California, No. 3 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, is a 2024 Rolex Junior All-American and 2025 Wyndham Cup West Team player. She has seven AJGA titles, including one Invitational victory.
Lunden Esterline of Andover, Kansas, an Auburn commit and the highest-ranked boy in the field, sits at No. 7 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. The 2025 Boys Junior PGA Champion owns five career AJGA top-10s, highlighted by a win at the 2024 AJGA NW Arkansas Junior.
Ronin Banerjee of Irvine, California, No. 10 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, is a two-time Rolex Junior All-American and 2024–25 Wyndham Cup West Team member. He’s a three-time AJGA champion with one Invitational title.
Luke Ringkamp of Palm Desert, California, a Pepperdine commit ranked No. 13, owns an AJGA title and five top-10 finishes in 2025, including one in an AJGA Invitational.

Tournament History
The inaugural PING Invitational took place in 2006 and in the tournament’s 19-year history, has crowned many notable past champions. Jordan Spieth is the only two-time Boys Division champion, winning in 2008 and 2010. Other notable champions include PGA TOUR player Emiliano Grillo and college standouts – Stanford senior Michael Thorbjornsen and 2023 Walker Cup team member Ben James, a sophomore at the University of Virginia.
Rose Zhang, two-time Rolex Junior Player of the Year and LPGA Tour star, joined Spieth as the first two-time champion in the Girls Division with victories in 2018 and 2020. In 2021, Gianna Clemente of Estero, Florida, became the youngest champion at 13 years, 6 months, and 18 days old. Clemente successfully defended her title in 2022, winning by seven shots to join Spieth and Zhang. Notable Girls Division champions also include: Nelly Korda, Alison Lee and Patty Tavatanakit.

About PING
PING, a golf club manufacturer with the goal to help golfers play their best, has been an AJGA supporter since 1990 and began supporting the PING Phoenix Junior in 1991. The PING Invitational, one of the AJGA's top Invitationals held over Columbus Day weekend, began in 2006 at Karsten Creek. The PING Junior Solheim Cup, the all-girls match play biennial event, has received worldwide recognition and many participants are able to say they played for their country as a junior and professional.

The tournament rounds run Saturday, October 11th - Monday, October 13th, with tee times from 8:00 a.m. - 10:01 a.m. off of Nos. 1 and 10.
