Singles Match Results

Flagstaff, AZ - The 35th Wyndham Cup has officially concluded and the East team takes home their 14th Wyndham Cup victory with a score of 28 to 22. This brings the all-time record to 17-14-4.

The East and West were tied at the end of day one. On day two, the East team claimed 8 points and made it a tight race heading into the singles matches on the final day leading only by one point.

2025 marks the East team’s back-to-back victory, following last year’s win at The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek in Johns Island, S.C.

The East won 12 of the 20 matches and tied one of them. The first two points of the day came from the East team. Willie Gordon of Hot Springs, Arkansas won 3&2 over Joshua Kim of Danville, California. While Phillip Dunham of Vedra Beach, Florida won 8&7 against Chase Hughes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The majority of the afternoon was neck-and-neck, with all matches going off of No. 1, it would come down to the final few matches of the day.

The first West point of the day came from Asher Vargas of Spring, Texas and Benjamin Baker of Broadlands, Virginia. Vargas took the match lead on No. 2 and held a 1-up or better lead throughout the rest of the match before taking the win 4&3 on No. 15.

The clinching match for the East team came in the final pairing, where No. 14 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, Elizabeth Rudisill of Charlotte, North Carolina, defeated No. 37, Kelly Zhang of Hillsborough, California, 5&4.

Coming down to the wire, the last remaining match of the afternoon was contested between Tyler Watts of Huntsville, Alabama and Drake Harvey of Las Vegas, Nevada. Watts took the initial lead on No. 1. Later in the match, Harvey brought the match to a tie on No. 5, then Watts retook the lead to end the front nine 3-up. Making the turn to the back nine, Harvey brought the match back down to 1-up after No. 14. Watts went 2-up after winning hole No. 15 and closed out the match 2&1 on No. 16 to secure a point for the East.

  • Hamilton Coleman of Augusta, Georgia won 3&1 over Evan Liu of Rancho Santa Fe, California
  • Rayee Feng of Short Hills, New Jersey won 3&2 over Asia Young of Bend, Oregon
  • Jessy Huebner of Port St. Lucie, Florida won 3&1 over Sterling Hurd of Austin, Texas
  • Jodie Han of Lewis Center, Ohio won 1-up over Honorine Nobuta Ferry of Flower Mound, Texas
  • Pennson Badgett of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina won 5&3 against Ronin Banerjee of Irvine, California
  • Tyler Mawhinney of Fleming Island, Florida won 2&1 against Edan Cui of Atherton, California
  • Ryleigh Knaub of Debary, Florida won 4&3 over Alice Ziyi Zhao of Irvine, California
Seniors - 2025 - Wyndham Cup

Nine total seniors represented both the East and West this week. The AJGA is proud that they chose to end their junior golf careers playing in the Wyndham Cup. Their names and the colleges they are committed to play college golf at are below:

Since 1990, the Wyndham Cup has brought together 40 of the country’s top junior golfers (20 males and 20 females) in an East versus West team match play tournament. This is the second time in the event's history that Forest Highlands Golf Club - Canyon Course has hosted the Wyndham Cup, previously known as the Canon Cup, which they hosted in 2009.
