Belleair, Fla. - After the first round of competition, Bodie Brumlow of Cartersville, Georgia, leads after shooting a course record and AJGA Invitational 18-hole low score of 9-under-par 61 at the Team TaylorMade Invitational at Pelican Golf Club.

With temperatures in the mid 90s, players faced a light wind but sunny skies as they navigated around the par 70 Pelican Golf Club. Players took advantage of the prime scoring conditions as 25 players shot under par during the first round.

This is the sixth playing of the Team TaylorMade Invitational and features some of the most talented junior golfers in the world. The event is supported by AJGA Global Partner TaylorMade Golf and moves annually to different venues throughout the country.

In first after the opening round, Brumlow started on No. 10 and wasted no time getting under par with a birdie on his second hole, No. 11. He added birdies on Nos. 13 and 14, as well as Nos. 17 and 18 to make the turn at 5-under-par 30. He continued his hot streak with birdies on Nos. 1 and 2 to put together four straight. He would par out the rest of the front nine outside of an eagle on the 535 yard par 5 No. 7. Brumlow hit a solid drive which left him just over 200 yards to the hole. He hit his approach to 15 feet and made the putt.

“My mindset is that the job is not finished. I came here to win and that’s what I want to do. One round doesn’t just mean you’re going to win and so I want to finish strong the rest of the week.”
Bodie Brumlow

His 9-under-par 61 breaks the Pelican Golf Club course record which stood at 7-under-par 63. His round also breaks the AJGA's 18-hole Invitational scoring record which was previously set at 62 by several juniors, including at the 2021 Team TaylorMade Invitational when Luke Clanton shot 10-under-par 62 on the Blue Course at Streamsong Resort during the final round.

The 2027 grad is No. 94 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. He is playing in just his third AJGA tournament with the previous two being top-5 finishes in 2025. He has also built a strong resume through SCJGA, SJGT and GAPGA tournaments. He is planning to attend the University of Georgia in the fall of 2027.

He also made the turn at 5-under-par 30. He began his back nine on hole No. 1 with another birdie and poured his seventh birdie of the day in on No. 3 before parring out the remaining holes to sit in solo second, two shots behind Brumlow.

The 2028 grad came into the event at No. 34 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings after a win at the AJGA Lake Charles Junior Championship in April and a T5 finish at the K.J. Choi Foundation Texas Junior Championship hosted by Pacificlinks Korea in March. He has six top-5 AJGA finishes in his career.

In a tie for third at 5-under-par 65 are Luke Ringkamp of Palm Desert, California, and Sohan Patel of Weston, Florida. Ringkamp comes into the tournament at No. 4 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. The Pepperdine verbal commit made seven birdies and two bogeys enroute to the third best round of the day. The 2025 Rolex Junior All-American is a 2026 grad and has one AJGA Invitational win which came at the 2025 Rolex Tournament of Champions. Patel is No. 26 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and is looking for his first AJGA win. The 2027 grad was named a Rolex Junior All-American in 2025 and is verbally committed to Vanderbilt University.
