AJGA recognizes tournament for historic media attention following Charlie Woods’ first AJGA victory

The Team TaylorMade Invitational has been honored with the American Junior Golf Association’s 2025 Media Award after generating historic worldwide attention surrounding Charlie Woods’ first AJGA victory at Streamsong Resort. Woods captured the title with rounds of 70-65-66 to finish 15-under-par 201 and earn a three-shot victory in one of the strongest fields in junior golf. Woods entered the week ranked No. 604 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and left with his first AJGA title, fully exempt status and a move inside the top 20 of the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

The AJGA Media Award recognizes tournaments that create meaningful exposure for junior golf through impactful storytelling, fan engagement and widespread media visibility. The Team TaylorMade Invitational delivered on every level, producing one of the most significant media moments in AJGA history.

Following Woods’ breakthrough win, the tournament generated an estimated 66 million global reach and $1.1 million in exposure value. Coverage included 48 published articles reaching 26 million readers, with stories featured by ESPN, CNN, Fox News, ABC, CBS Sports, Yahoo Sports, AP Newswire and many additional national and international outlets. The event also received a prominent ESPN homepage feature, further elevating the visibility of both the tournament and the AJGA.

Across social media and broadcast media, the Team TaylorMade Invitational recorded 22.1 million impressions across 870 mentions. Coverage on X accounted for 5.6 million impressions across 818 posts, while Instagram generated 3.2 million impressions, highlighted by a Golf Channel reel that surpassed one million views. YouTube added another 3.9 million impressions across 10 videos, including Golf Channel Shorts that also reached one million views. Additional exposure came from TikTok, Facebook and Reddit, helping the story spread across every major digital platform.

Television coverage extended the reach even further, totaling 8.3 million viewers across multiple national broadcasts. The Today Show led the way with 3.4 million viewers, while SportsCenter featured the story in two separate segments that reached 1.8 million viewers combined. Additional coverage aired on Fox News, CNN and Golf Channel, showcasing the widespread mainstream interest surrounding Woods’ victory and the Team TaylorMade Invitational.

The Media Award will be officially presented at this year’s Team TaylorMade Invitational, held June 21-25, 2026, at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida.
