The American Junior Golf Association is proud to recognize Dan Baxter, Vice President of Southpointe Golf Club, as the recipient of the 2025 Golf Executive of the Year Award.
The Golf Executive of the Year Award is presented annually to a golf industry leader who demonstrates exceptional support for junior golf through hosting, service and advocacy. Recipients are recognized for their commitment to growing the game, providing valuable opportunities for young athletes and upholding the AJGA’s mission of DEVELOPING GOLF’S NEXT GENERATION®.
“I'm truly humbled and honored by this award. For me, the best part of these last seven years has been growing the game of golf. That's what it's all about. And getting to do it alongside so many wonderful people on the committee has meant the world to me. I've learned so much from them, and I only hope I've given something back in return.”
Since the event began in 2019, Southpointe Golf Club has welcomed AJGA players, families, volunteers and staff while generating more than $2 million in economic impact for the surrounding community. The event has also raised $150,000 in charitable proceeds to support the Liberty National ACE Grant and other local charities.

His commitment to Southpointe Golf Club, the tournament and everyone involved has made a lasting impact. This recognition is well deserved and reflects the time, care and leadership he has contributed over the years.”
Throughout the tournament’s seven-year history, Baxter has maintained the same course fee and continually found ways to support the event. In past years, he has provided meals for volunteers and staff and helped secure complimentary lodging accommodations for the AJGA staff at a brand-new hotel near the club.
Baxter has also supported the tournament’s Junior-Am Fundraising Tournament by helping sell teams and participating in the event in past years. Horizon Properties Group, where Baxter serves as Vice President, is the title sponsor of the Junior-Am. AM Technical Solutions serves as the title sponsor of the tournament.
“This event only happens because of the people who put their hearts into it: the wonderful folks at the AJGA, the interns who work so hard behind the scenes, the golfers themselves, and the families who cheer them on. It's a special organization to be part of, and being recognized this way means more to me than I can really put into words.”
The Golf Executive of the Year Award was officially presented at the AM Technical Solutions Junior at Southpointe, held July 27-30, 2026, at Southpointe Golf Club in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
