The Presidents Cup and American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) announced today the first 11 players, including the captain’s pick for the 2026 Junior Presidents Cup International Team. The event’s fifth edition is set to tee off on Sept. 19 on a unique routing of Course No. 1 and Course No. 2 at Medinah Country Club, just days before the 2026 Presidents Cup begins play on Course No. 3 at Medinah Country Club. The 12th and final Junior Presidents Cup International Team member will be finalized July 30. The United States’ first 11 players will be finalized Aug. 6, with the final spot awarded on Sept. 10.

The Junior Presidents Cup is a two-day, team match-play competition featuring 24 of the world’s top junior boys 19 years old and younger – 12 from the United States and 12 from around the world, excluding Europe – that takes place just days before the start of the biennial Presidents Cup. The Junior Presidents Cup was developed to give the world’s best non-European juniors a unique playing opportunity to compete in an international team match-play competition and showcase the global reach of junior golf.

Originally crafted in 1925 by renowned golf course architect Tom Bendelow, Medinah’s Course No. 1 has a rich tournament heritage, having hosted the inaugural Medinah Open (1930), along with both a Western Open and a Chicago Open. Reimagined in 2014 by acclaimed architect Tom Doak, the course now features generous, inviting fairways paired with thoughtfully contoured, challenging greens. Today, Course No. 1 offers an exceptional walking experience and remains a favorite for members. In 1927, Bendelow designed Medinah’s Course No. 2. It was thoughtfully restored in 2017 to honor Bendelow’s classic vision while incorporating important modern infrastructure upgrades. Designed with playability and enjoyment in mind, the course features multiple sets of tees that make it welcoming for families, beginners, and seasoned players alike.

On the International Team, Tuan Anh Nguyen of Vietnam leads the list of top-10 qualified players based on the World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR®). At No. 132, Nguyen comes into the event with eight wins in WAGR® recognized events, including a professional event in Vietnam. The initial International Team has a fresh look, as all players be competing in their first Junior Presidents Cup. The 10 countries represented on the team are the most in the event’s five iterations, while South Korea is the only country represented by multiple players.

International Team Captain C.T. Pan selected Jeyi Son of South Korea as his captain’s pick. Son has four wins and nine additional top-10 finishes in 17 events recognized by WAGR® and was the next player in the standings following the 10 automatic qualifiers as of June 4, 2026.

“It is an honor to serve as captain of the International Team, and it is a responsibility I take very seriously,” said International Team Captain C.T. Pan. “There were many outstanding young men deserving of this opportunity, and any one of them would have represented the International Team well. I selected Jeyi Son because he has earned this position through his play, his character and the way he carries himself. He narrowly missed an automatic qualifying spot, and I believe he has proven that he belongs on this team. I am excited to welcome him and look forward to working with all 12 players as we prepare for a special week of competition, growth and sportsmanship.”
C.T. Pan

The 12th and final spot on the International Team will be awarded to the leading player on the WAGR® list as of July 30, 2026, who is not otherwise qualified. In the event of a tie, the selection will be decided by the individual ranked highest on the most previous WAGR® revision.
