Carter secures first day lead at Le Triomphe Golf and Country Club

BROUSSARD, Louisiana - After the first round of competition, Grace Carter of Jupiter, Florida leads the Girl's Division after landing a 4-under-par 68 at the 1st Clubs for Kids Foundation Junior All-Star Invitational. She is currently ranked No. 83 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and is a member of the 2024 AJGA Junior All-Star Team. This event marks her second Invitational appearance of 2024, her first being the Stacy Lewis Junior All-Star Invitational.

Carter started the day strong with a birdie on hole No. 1 and continued to play the front nine bogey-free. She landed three consecutive birdies on the back nine, giving her five total on the day.

In a tie for second place in the Girl's Division are Shauna Liu of Maple, Ontario, Canada, and Klare Jamison of Huntsville, Alabama.

Liu entered the event at No. 46 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. She is a three-time AJGA Champion in the 2024 season and a member of 2024 AJGA Junior All-Star Team. Liu carded three birdies and one bogey on her front nine, putting her at the top of the leaderboard. After she made the turn, Liu added two additional birdies to her total on the day to come in at a 3-under-par 69.

Jamison started her round off with a birdie on hole No. 1. She added another birdie to her front nine total on No. 6, along with a bogey. She proceeded to play the back nine bogey-free, adding an additional two birdies to her first round total. She finished her round at a 3-under-par 69. Jamison won her first ever AJGA start at the 2024 TaylorMade Preview at Bentwater (Ages 12-15).

In the Boy's Division, Davis Wotnosky of Wake Forest, North Carolina leads after the first round, scoring a 5-under-par 67. He played a bogey-free round, with two birdies carded on the front nine and three carded on the back nine. This event marks Wotnosky's second Invitational appearance in 2024 after placing in a tie for third at the Stacy Lewis Junior All-Star Invitational.

In a tie for second place in the Boy's Division are Jaden Soong of Los Angeles, California, and Aadi Parmar of Selma, Texas.

Soong entered the tournament ranked No. 77 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings. This marks his fourth AJGA start of the season after taking home a win at the TaylorMade Qi10 Junior All-Star. Soong is also a member of the 2024 AJGA Junior All-Star Team. He started his first round with a bogey-free front nine, landing birdies on Nos. 1 and 4. On the back nine he carded four additional birdies, for a total of six on the day. He finished the round with a 4-under par 68.

Parmar started his round with a birdie on No. 1, followed by two consecutive birdies on Nos. 4 and 5. After he made the turn, Parmar landed three consecutive birdies on the back nine, for a total of six on the day. He entered the event at No. 82 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings after winning the 2024 Shane Bacon Junior Championship. Parmar is a member of the 2024 AJGA Junior All-Star Team.

About 1st Clubs for Kids Foundation
The 1st Clubs for Kids Foundation provides kids with their first, hands-on introduction to the game and assists in providing a set of clubs to those who want to pursue the sport. The foundation will also create opportunities for juniors to receive lessons and will provide resources for competitive play.

For those junior golfers who excel and have the drive to pursue collegiate and professional levels, the foundation will provide the resources needed to identify these opportunities. The foundation will have a positive impact on kids, and individuals who aspire to work in the golf industry and will impact the industry as a whole.

Since its inception, the foundation has provided access to a sport that perhaps, many never thought they would have access to. Many children have been significantly impacted positively from the foundation; particularly those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and those who have been impacted by severe grief from the loss of a family member or loved one.
