BROUSSARD, Louisiana - Holding a six-shot lead in the Girls Division is Jodie Han of (Canada) Lewis Center, Ohio. She entered the event at No. 59 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and is a member of the 2024 AJGA Junior All-Star Team. She already has two wins under her belt this season: the 2024 Randy Wise Junior Open and the 2024 Mahoning Valley Junior All-Star. Han started her second round with four birdies on the front nine. After she made the turn, Han landed five additional birdies for a bogey-free back nine and a total of nine birdies on the day. She finished her round with the lowest score across the field at an 8-under-par 64. This pushed her to the top of the leaderboard with a total score of 9-under-par 135.
"Being on the AJGA Junior All-Star Team is really cool. I didn't expect it earlier this season, but here I am now and it's really amazing."
In a tie for second place in the Girls Division are Alexa Takai of Honolulu, Hawaii and Ava Zhang of Lake Mary, Florida.
Takai finished the day at 3-under-par 141. She started her second round strong with consecutive birdies on Nos. 1 and 2. She finished out her front nine with only one bogey. On the back nine, she landed an additional birdie for a total of three on the day.
Zhang carded three birdies on her front nine during the second round. On the back nine she carded a birdie on No. 14 for a total of four on the day. She finished with a total score of 3-under-par 141.
Taking a five shot lead in the Boys Division for a total 10-under-par 134 in the event is Aadi Parmar of Selma, Texas. He entered the event at No. 82 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and is a member of the 2024 AJGA Junior All-Star Team. He is an AJGA champion this season, winning the 2024 Shane Bacon Junior Championship. In the second round, Parmar's front nine was highlighted by three birdies. After he made the turn, he recorded a pair of back-to-back birdies. This and additional birdie on No. 8 landed him at a total of eight birdies on the day.
"I hit good shots off the tee and found the green on all the holes. Made a couple of good putts today, stayed patient and kept going strong."
Davis Wotnosky of Wake Forest, North Carolina takes second place in the Boys Division, with a total 5-under-par 139 on the week. He carded two birdies throughout the second round as well as two bogeys to land at even par for the day.
In a tie for third place are Junlin Pan of Orange, California and Kenyon Kahler of Carlsbad, California.
Pan finished the day at a 4-under-par 140 total. He shot one birdie on his front nine before going bogey-free on the back. On the back nine, he added two additional birdies for a total of three during the round.
Kahler had a bogey-free second round today. He shot a total of four birdies throughout the round, with two on the front nine and two on the back nine. Both his first and second rounds featured birdies on No. 1.
About 1st Clubs for Kids Foundation
The 1st Clubs for Kids Foundation provides kids with their first, hands-on introduction to the game and assists in providing a set of clubs to those who want to pursue the sport. The foundation will also create opportunities for juniors to receive lessons and will provide resources for competitive play.
For those junior golfers who excel and have the drive to pursue collegiate and professional levels, the foundation will provide the resources needed to identify these opportunities. The foundation will have a positive impact on kids, and individuals who aspire to work in the golf industry and will impact the industry as a whole.
Since its inception, the foundation has provided access to a sport that perhaps, many never thought they would have access to. Many children have been significantly impacted positively from the foundation; particularly those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and those who have been impacted by severe grief from the loss of a family member or loved one.
