The AJGA must regrettably cancel The PING Invitational this coming October due to course-damaging weather to Karsten Creek.
After a week-long heavy rainfall this summer, including seven inches in 18 hours, Lake Louise was more than 14.5 feet over full conditions. For three-straight weeks, 1.3 million gallons of water per hour were pumped off Karsten Creek. Unfortunately, the Nos. 11 and 12 greens were completely lost and severe damage to the property has rendered the course unplayable.
The AJGA Junior All-Star Invitational at Reynolds Lake Oconee and Billy Horschel Junior Championship presented by Zurich will be held Columbus Day weekend and are the final tournaments of the 2018 – 2019 Rolex AJGA Rankings year as it relates to naming the 2019 Rolex Junior All-America Teams and Rolex Players of the Year. For 2019 Rolex Junior Player of the Year consideration, the minimum number of tournaments required will remain at six, and the minimum number for Rolex Junior All-America consideration will be reduced to five.
The PING Invitational will return to Karsten Creek in 2020 on its traditional Columbus Day weekend dates of October 9-12.
