Jordan Spieth, ranked No. 2 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, carded a weekend 69-70 to claim low amateur honors at the 112th U.S. Open at The Olympic Club.  The University of Texas rising sophomore, tied for 21st overall with a total of 7-over-par, a score shared with Tiger Woods.

The 2009 Rolex Junior Player of the Year accumulated 20 top-10 finishes and five wins during his AJGA career, including titles at the 2011 HP Boys Championship at Carlton Woods, 2008 AJGA Championship at Traditions, The PING Invitational (2008, 2010) and his very first AJGA event, the 2007 Junior All-Star at Walnut Creek. Spieth helped the West Team capture its fourth straight title at the 2008 Wyndham Cup. A three-team Rolex Junior All-American, Spieth won two U.S. Junior Amateur Championships (in 2009 and 2011), making him the only player other than Tiger Woods to win multiple U.S. Junior Amateurs.

Patrick Cantlay, the top-ranked amateur in the world, finished the tournament at 11-over-par. A rising junior at UCLA, Cantlay won the low amateur award at the 2011 U.S. Open and the 2012 Masters. A highlight during his final round at Olympic Club, Cantlay made an eagle on the par-4 No. 7 after he drove the green and drained a six-foot putt.

During his AJGA career, Cantlay was a two-time Rolex Junior All-American. He compiled 10 top-10 finishes including a win at the 2008 ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior and finished in the top three twice at the Thunderbird International Junior.

After an impressive showing atop the leaderboard, Beau Hossler finished tied for 29th at 9-over-par after carding a 76 in the final round.  The 17-year-old went into the final round tied for eighth, after matching his opening-round 70 with another even-par 70 on Saturday. The future Texas Longhorn played in his first U.S. Open last year at Congressional, but failed to make the cut. His unforgettable showing at the 2012 U.S. Open ended with a standing ovation as he walked off the No. 18 green at The Olympic Club.

A two-time Rolex Junior All-American, Hossler is currently No. 7 in the Polo Golf Rankings. In April, he achieved his fourth career AJGA victory at the Winn Grips Heather Farr Classic hosted by Longbow Golf Club , where he set the tournament scoring record with a 15-under-par 198. He earned medalist honors at the 2011 U.S. Amateur, won the 2011 Junior World Golf Championships, and was a member of the 2011 Wyndham Cup West Team. Hossler has given a verbal commitment to continue his golf career at the University of Texas. He most recently finished fourth at the 2012 Thunderbird International Junior.
