Heritage Classic Foundation hosts AJGA satellite office

The Heritage Classic Foundation will host AJGA Southeast Regional Manager Lindsay Dodge in its offices on Hilton Head Island, S.C. The Heritage Classic Foundation has partnered with the AJGA since 1994 to bring tournaments to Hilton Head and provide support to junior golf initiatives.

“It is the perfect fit,” said Heritage Classic Foundation’s Executive Director Steve Wilmot.  “We warmly welcome Lindsay and the AJGA into our offices and hope it will continue to strengthen the relationship between both organizations.”

As a part of a program established in 2005, AJGA regional directors and managers provide consistency and promote the AJGA’s mission in each of five geographic regions of the country (Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, South Central and West). While the AJGA’s national headquarters are located in Braselton, Ga., which is approximately an hour northeast of Atlanta, there is a high demand for travel within regions.

“Since its inception, the Regional Director program has allowed us to better serve our local members, sponsors and host facilities,” said Jason Etzen, chief business officer. “Opening regional offices have allowed us to elevate that service even higher.”

With Dodge’s move to Hilton Head Island, there are five regional offices in operation across the country. The AJGA’s first regional office opened in Chicago in 2006.  Midwest Regional Director Matt Larson has operated out of the Midwest Golf House since 2008.

South Central Regional Director Darren Nelson established an office in the same year inside the headquarters of the Texas Golf Association. In 2010, John Dolan moved into an office at the Westchester Country Club in New York. West Regional Director Sean Riley is hosted by ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz. Southeast Regional Director Ryan Tahara, and newly-hired Regional Manager Adam Rogers are located inside the AJGA headquarters in Braselton, Ga.

“I am excited about the opportunity to be located in the Southeast with easier access to stakeholders in the region,” Dodge said. “The Heritage Classic Foundation has promoted the game of golf since 1987 and I am excited to work more closely with them.”
