The East claimed the 31st Wyndham Cup at Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, South Carolina with a 29.5-20.5 victory over the West. After going into the final day of play with a 16-14 lead, the East dominated their singles matches 13.5-6.5 to secure their first consecutive Wyndham Cup title since 2012.
Of the six players who entered the final day of competition at 3-0-0, only Casey Weidenfeld of Pembroke Pines, Florida, David Ford of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and Amanda Sambach of Charlotte, North Carolina, ended the week perfect. This was the East's 12th Wyndham Cup title.
Alice Ziyi Zhao of (China) Irvine, California, won the AJGA Junior at Palouse Ridge at Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Washington. Zhao shot a tournament total of 15-under-par 201 and is now tied for the second lowest Girls Division 54-hole score in AJGA history. Her opening round score of 64 was the lowest in the Girls Division over all three rounds of play. Zhao carded 17 birdies and one eagle on the tournament to help her claim her second AJGA victory. This was also her fourth top-10 finish in five career AJGA starts.
Max Herendeen of Bellevue, Washington, won the Boys Division with a tournament total of 10-under-par 203. He shot the low round of the week with a 8-under-par 63 in round one. He finished the tournament strong with a 5-under-par 31 on the back nine in the final round. This was Herendeen's first AJGA victory.
At the Cameron McCormick Junior All-Star , Erica Lee of Arcadia, California, claimed her first AJGA victory. She shot a tournament total of 4-under-par 140 and earned low final round honors with a 4-under-par 68. Lee carded 10 birdies on the week. Her highest previous AJGA finish was T2 at the 2021 AJGA Thunderbird Junior All-Star.
Jackson Hymer of San Antonio, Texas, won the Boys Division after a two hole playoff. He shot a tournament total of 6-under-par 138 and earned low final round honors with a 8-under-par 64. Hymer carded six birdies and an eagle in the final round.
Trinity Beth of Calvert City, Kentucky, claimed her first AJGA title with a wire-to-wire victory at the AJGA Junior All-Star presented by Auburn-Opelika Tourism at RTJ at Grand National in Opelika, Alabama. She shot a tournament total of 4-under-par 212 and was the only player in the Girls Division to finish with a score under par. Beth birdied Nos. 4 & 7 in all three rounds of play.
In the Boys Division, Brody McQueen of Marietta, Georgia, also claimed his first AJGA tournament victory with a tournament total of 6-under-par 210. He carded 12 birdies in the final two rounds of play and shot the lowest round of the tournament with a 5-under-par 67 in round two.
At the Junior Golf Hub Junior All-Star , Maria Jose Marin Negrete of Cali, Valle, Colombia, won for the second week in a row in just her second AJGA appearance. She shot a tournament total of 10-under-par 206 and was the only player in the Girls Division to shoot all three rounds under par. Negrete also led the Girls Division with 13 birdies on the week.
Andre Zhu of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, won the Boys Division to claim his second AJGA tournament victory. He shot a tournament total of 14-under-par 202 and led the Boys Division with 15 birdies and two eagles over the three rounds of play. Zhu now has eight top-20 AJGA tournament finishes.
Michelle Liu of (Canada) Vancouver, British Columbia, won the Girls Division of the UHY St. Louis Junior at The Country Club of St. Albans in St. Albans, Missouri. She shot a tournament total of 10-under-par 206 and earned low final round honors with a 3-under-par 69. Liu carded 18 birdies on the tournament and birdied No. 2 in each round of play. This was Liu's second AJGA tournament victory. She has finished in the top three in all 2021 tournaments that she has competed in.
Nicholas Canales of La Porte, Texas, won the Boys Division with a tournament total of 5-under-par 211. This was Canales' first AJGA Open tournament appearance. He carded 13 birdies on the tournament and birdied No. 5 in all three rounds of play. Canales was bogey-free on the back nine in the final round, helping him secure his victory by two strokes.
At the Wincraft / McArthur Towel & Sports Future Legends , Jacinda Lee of Camas, Washington, claimed her first AJGA victory. Lee shot a tournament total of 2-over-par 218 and carded ten birdies throughout the week. She also had an eagle on No. 5 in the first round. This was Lee's first national junior golf win.
Braeden Sladek of Alexandria, Minnesota, claimed the Boys Division title for the second year in a row. He had a tournament total of 8-under-par 208 and was the only player in the field to shoot all three rounds at even-par or under-par. Sladek also carded a total of twelve birdies on the week. In 2020, he was a member of the Junior All-Star team.
Kiera Allado of San Clemente, California, earned medalist honors in the Girls Division at the Cameron McCormick Preview at The Rawls Course at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. She shot a tournament total of even-par 144 and carded an eagle on No. 12 in the first round. Allado was also the co-medalist at the 2021 Cameron McCormick Junior All-Star Qualifier.
In the Boys Division, Joe Magnani of (Mexico) Irving, Texas, earned medalist honors with a tournament total of 9-under-par 135. He also earned low final round honors with a 5-under-par 67. This was Magnani's first career AJGA victory.
