Luis Fernando Barco of Lima, Peru, emerged from a crowded pack to win the 2018 Terra Cotta Invitational by two strokes. The AJGA alum opened the Invitational with a 1-under-par 71 that included three birdies. That left him four strokes off the lead, but he was just getting started. Barco matched the lowest score of the tournament with his second-round 5-under-par 67 that included four birdies and an eagle. That charge brought him within one of the lead. Barco managed to win the tournament with a final-round 1-over-par 73 in blustery conditions. He finished at a tournament total of 5-under-par 211. He finished 15th at the 2013 Thunderbird International Junior as a junior.

Kara Carter of Kingsport, Tennessee, won the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour’s Southeast Classic @ Columbia Country Club by one stroke. Carter found herself two strokes off the lead after a first-round 4-over-par 76. The 15-year-old secured the come-from-behind victory with a final-round 2-under-par 70 that was the lowest round of the tournament. Carter won the event at 2-over-par 146 with a total of eight birdies. She has played in only one AJGA tournament, the 2017 Evitt Foundation RTC Junior All-Star.

Isaac Rodea of San Diego, has been playing inspired golf of late. Just a week after winning his first AJGA tournament at the AJGA Preview at Carlton Oaks, Rodea won the San Diego Junior Golf Association’s Golden State Tour Junior event at Temecula Creek Inn Golf Resort. Rodea was the only junior in the field to card consecutive under-par rounds and he was the only player in the field to post a sub-70 round with his first-round 3-under-par 69. The high school junior fired a total of eight birdies en route to a seven-stroke victory at 5-under-par 139.

Angela Lee of Hillsdale, New Jersey, won the Girls Division title at the 2018 Faldo Series New Jersey Championship. Lee posted the lowest round of the tournament with her first-round 1-under-par 70. The 13-year-old carded three birdies on the front nine and two on the back to give herself a seven-stroke lead heading into the final round. Lee battled through the final round, but she managed to hold onto the victory with a 10-over-par 81 for a tournament total of 9-over-par 151. Lee finished thirteenth at the 2017 Windham Mountain Resort Junior All-Star.
