Tony Hendricks of Phoenix, Arizona, finished atop a crowded leaderboard at the Wigwam Invitational. The high school junior opened the tournament with a dominant bogey-free 6-under-par 66. Hendricks took a two-stroke lead into the final round, where he found himself in trouble early. Three front-nine bogeys led the 17-year-old to make the turn at 2-over-par 38, but Hendricks came back with four birdies on his bogey-free back nine to hold onto a one-stroke victory. Hendricks finished T24 at the 2017 Azahara Munoz Championship by Transamerica.

Toni St John of Gilbert, Arizona, won the Girls Division of the Wigwam Invitational by one stroke over fellow AJGA junior Ashley Menne of Surprise, Arizona. St John carded a first-round 2-under-par 70 that included five birdies. That round matched the lowest of the tournament. The high school sophomore carded three birdies on her final-round 2-over-par 74 to win the tournament at even-par 144. The 15-year-old’s best AJGA finish was fifth at the 2017 Azahara Munoz Championship by Transamerica.

Lutze-IP-Feb7.jpg

Trent Lutze of Edmond, Oklahoma, used an inspired final round to win the Tribute Winter Classic in overwhelming fashion. The high school senior opened the tournament with a 2-over-par 74, which was good enough for T2 after the first round. Lutze opened his final round with a birdie, and he didn’t look back. He fired seven total birdies to post a 6-under-par 66 for a tournament-total 4-under-par 140. Lutze won by eight strokes. His best AJGA finish was 15th at the 2017 AJGA Preview at Brookhaven.

Camargo-IP-Feb7.jpg

Juliana Camargo of Winter Garden, Florida, was the only junior at the FJT at Black Bear Golf Club to card an under-par round. The high school freshman carded a first-round 3-under-par 69 and a final-round 4-over-par 76 to win the 13-15 Girls Division by six strokes. At 14-years-old, Camargo finished with the lowest tournament-total out of both the 13-15 and 16-18 age divisions. Camargo finished third at the 2017 Foley Performance Academy @ EaglesDream Junior All-Star and T9 at the 2018 Foley Performance Academy @ EaglesDream Junior Championship last month.
