Karl Vilips of (Australia) Wesley Chapel, Florida, caught fire in the Wyndham Invitational presented by BB&T, carding a 10-under-par 270 to win by six strokes. The No. 1 player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings tied the course record in the third round, shooting 10-under-par 62. Vilips’ overall tournament score placed him one stroke shy of the tournament record set at 11-under-par 269 by Andrew Yun(2006) and Bill Kennerly (2011). This is Vilips’ fifth AJGA victory and his third Invitational victory.


Yujeong Son of (South Korea) Norman, Oklahoma, earned her third Invitational victory at the Rolex Girls Junior Championship. Son carded rounds of 69-70-72-73 for a tournament total of 4-under-par 284. Currently No. 7 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, the three-time Rolex Junior All-American finished with 17 birdies in the tournament. This is the rising senior’s third AJGA victory and 20th top-10 finish in the AJGA.


Blake Lorenz of Peoria, Arizona, fired an 8-under-par 208 to win his first AJGA tournament at the ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior. Lorenz carded three birdies on the back nine in the final round, and 13 overall for the tournament. In his last AJGA tournament, Lorenz finished T8 at the AJGA Junior at Superstition. The University of Oklahoma commit won the AM&E Classic – Bryce Molder Jr. Masters in 2017.


Yingting Hsieh of Huantan Township, Taiwan, notched her first AJGA victory at the Judie Oppenheimer Memorial Junior. Shooting 1-over-par 211, Hsieh carded an eagle on the back nine during the final round to seal a two-stroke victory. This is the rising senior’s fifth AJGA tournament and her second top-5 finish.
