AJGA alumni, Michael Thorbjornsen, claimed individual medalist title and led Stanford to the 2023 Pac-12 Men's Golf Championship team title. Hosted at Stanford University, the 2023 Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships is a three-day, 6-count-5, 72-hole stroke play format. This year marked the tenth year that Stanford has hosted the Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships and the sixth time the Cardinals have taken home the team and individual title in the same year.

Throughout the tournament, Thorbjornsen fired rounds of 63-66-68-68 for a tournament total of 15-under-par 265. After 36-holes on the first day, he carded a total of 12 birdies and found himself tied for the lead with fellow AJGA alumni, Preston Summerhays. Heading into the second day, Thorbjornsen shot a 2-under-par 68, leaving him with a two-stroke lead ahead of the final 18 holes. Thorbjornsen maintained his two-stroke lead throughout the final round to secure his individual medalist title with a 2-under-par 68 on the day.

Thorbjornsen, a junior at Stanford University, was also recently honored as the Pac-12 Men's Golfer of the Year. He leads the conference with a 68.96 scoring average.

During Thorbjornsen's junior golf career, he played in 14 AJGA events. The two-time Rolex Junior All-American, earned his first AJGA champion title at The PING Invitational in 2018. He was a member of the Wyndham Cup East team in 2018/2019 and played on the 2019 United States Junior Presidents Cup Team. Thorbjornsen also had the opportunity to serve as the 2019 AJGA Player Representative to the Board of Directors.
