The Coody brothers meet on the PGA TOUR in Florida

AJGA alumni, Parker and Pierceson Coody, found themselves in the same field at a PGA TOUR event in February. The twin brothers, both of Plano, Texas, earned their way into the 2023 Honda Classic at PGA National Resort. Pierceson received a sponsor's exemption into the event after winning two Korn Ferry Tour events this season. Parker earned a spot in the event through Monday qualifying.

Parker participated in a play-off during his Monday qualifier to earn entry into the Honda Classic. From there, he opened his first round with a 4-over-par 74, after recording two birdies. He followed his first round with a 6-over-par 76, after recording four birdies on the day.

Pierceson opened the tournament with a 4-under-par 66 and four birdies. In the second round, he struggled with a couple of bogies, and finished the round with a 5-over-par 75. Starting the weekend sitting at 1-over-par for the event, Pierceson fired a 1-over-par 71. His third round was highlighted by four birdies. In his final round, he was able to continue his birdie train and made three more to finish the event with a round of even-par 70. Pierceson had a tournament score of 2-over-par 282.

The twin brothers were impressive AJGA and University of Texas alumni. Parker won the 2016 Action Zone/Bob Estes Abilene Junior and was an Honorable Mention Rolex Junior All-American in 2017. Pierceson is a two-time AJGA champion. He earned victories at the 2016 Under Armour/Jordan Spieth Championship presented by American Campus Communities and at the 2018 Thunderbird International Junior.
